SafetyClip
Clipboard manager for Mac
SafetyClip remembers everything you copy, from the prompt you just polished to the command you'll need tomorrow, so you can find it and paste it again with ⌃⌘V. When you copy a password or an API key, it hides it from other apps, clears it from the clipboard and locks it behind Touch ID.
macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple Silicon or Intel · One-time purchase · Source code included

New to clipboard managers?
Your Mac's clipboard holds one thing at a time. SafetyClip keeps all of them.
Prompts, replies, links, commands. SafetyClip saves each one quietly from the menu bar.
A search box appears over whatever app you're in, with everything you've copied, newest first.
Type a few letters, press Return, and it lands right where your cursor is.
Working with AI
Prompts, replies and API keys pass through your clipboard all day.
Name the prompt that finally got it right. Next week it's one search away, in any app.
Copy an error from the terminal, code from your editor and a reply from the chat, then paste each one where it's needed.
An API key you copy to set up a tool comes straight off the clipboard, and ⌘V asks for Touch ID before pasting it, so a stray paste can't drop it into a conversation.
What it does
A clipboard history you'll use every day, that knows a secret when it sees one.
Press ⌃⌘V in any app. Pin what you reuse, and paste with a keystroke.

API keys, tokens and passwords are recognised the moment you copy them.
Secrets are marked concealed, so other clipboard managers skip them, and they stay masked in your own history.

A secret is cleared right after you paste it. If you turn off Touch ID to paste, it's cleared after 90 seconds instead, or whenever you choose.

Call it “Prod database” or “Release notes prompt” and find it by name, even when it's a secret.
Mark anything as secret and it's locked away, and hidden the next time you copy it. Or pick apps whose copies are always secret, like an authenticator or your bank.
Copy a key and it's taken off the clipboard. Press ⌘V as usual and Touch ID comes up before it pastes. Viewing one in your history asks too.
If an app reads a concealed secret, the Leaks view names it, so you know which key to rotate.

Hooks for zsh, bash and fish keep commands with secrets out of history, and a scan cleans up old ones.
$ export OPENAI_API_KEY=sk-proj-51Hq8x… $ history | tail -2 411 git pull 412 npm test # The line with your key was never saved.
The audit log shows when secrets were copied, concealed, pasted and cleared, without storing them.

Privacy
A clipboard manager sees everything you copy, so SafetyClip keeps all of it on your Mac and out of sight.
Detection, history and encryption all happen on your Mac. Your clipboard is never sent anywhere.
History is encrypted with a key in your Keychain, and secrets are sealed by the Secure Enclave on top.
SafetyClip's windows don't show up in screenshots, recordings or shared screens.
Nothing to sign up for. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting and no ads.
A license check about once a month, and updates when you allow them. Being offline never locks the app.
Every license includes the full Swift source on GitHub, so you can check what it does.

Questions
Normally your Mac's clipboard holds one thing: copy something new and the last thing is gone. A clipboard manager keeps a history of what you copy, so you can paste something from an hour ago without hunting for it again. SafetyClip keeps 30 days by default.
So you can check exactly what an app that sees your clipboard does. Every purchase includes read access to the private GitHub repository, with the full Swift source and its history, to read, audit and build for the Mac your license covers. It's for your own use, not for sharing.
A license covers one Mac at a time. To move it, deactivate it in SafetyClip under Settings → License, then activate it on the new Mac. For more Macs, buy a license for each.
Only for your license and for updates. Activating sends your license key and your Mac's model to Dodo Payments, which sells SafetyClip for us, and SafetyClip re-checks the key about once a month; being offline never locks it. Update checks are off by default: SafetyClip looks for a new version when you click Check for Updates, or daily if you turn on automatic checks. Detection, encryption and your history all stay on your Mac, and nothing about your clipboard is ever sent.

Yes. Most of what you copy isn't secret: prompts you've refined, AI replies worth keeping, links, notes and commands. SafetyClip keeps 30 days of them, searchable, and you can name the ones you'll want again.
When you copy an API key or another secret, SafetyClip takes it off the clipboard, so it isn't sitting there for other apps to read. Pressing ⌘V brings up Touch ID, then pastes it and clears it again. It needs the Accessibility permission, and you can turn it off in Settings. Copies from password managers paste as usual, since those apps already ask before copying.
Mark it as secret from its menu in History, or press ⌘L in the ⌃⌘V panel. It's locked behind Touch ID, and the same text is hidden the next time you copy it. For apps where everything is sensitive, like an authenticator or your bank, add them in Settings and every copy from them is treated as a secret. Password managers are always included.
Right away you see your license key and a download link, and you get them by email too. To get the source code, connect your GitHub account from that email or the customer portal, then accept the invitation to the repository. Lost your key? Sign in to the portal with the email you bought with and it's there. Open the customer portal.
Yes. They honour the concealed marker SafetyClip adds, so they don't save your secrets. If an app reads one anyway, the Leaks view tells you.
No problem. Just drop us a note at support@appmacha.com within 5 days of buying and we'll give you a full refund. No questions, no hard feelings. Read the refund policy.
